Exploration Hour is a time for you to choose from a variety of hands-on activities.

This is a discussion-based session connecting ICTforAg and BIG DATA Platform Convention.

ICTforAg 2019, hosted by USAID Bureau for Food Security, and DAI brought together private and public sector actors to discuss how digital tools and technologies can build a resilient community for smallholder farmers across the globe. The one-day conference highlighted the importance of data use, private sector engagement, collaboration, and building enabling environments for digital tool creation and adoption.

ICTforAg 2019 also identified the importance of consistent communication between stakeholders. Conventions, conferences, and global events are a key place for these interactions to take place – including both ICTforAg and the CGIAR BIG DATA Convention.

This session will explore ways in which build off the momentum of these events to answer key questions in digital technologies, agriculture, and research. How can attendees of the BIG DATA Convention connect with their ICTforAg counterparts? Why are these pathways for engagement necessary in the agriculture community and how can we improve upon them?
