Agricultural researchers tackle challenges that often span scales and disciplines, which generally means being able to query and/or aggregate a variety of data types. Interoperability is critical to providing meaning and context that allows humans and machines to interpret, aggregate, and analyze data. CGIAR’s approach encourages open and Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) data assets, and enabling their discovery and use to generate high-value products and actionable insights through its Global Agricultural Research Data Innovation and Acceleration Network (GARDIAN). This session will outline the vision for the GARDIAN data ecosystem, created through trust, engagement and co-design with partners including governments, non-governmental organizations, funders, startups, and other researchers.
