After completion of the PhD (Plant Physiology) from ICAR-IARI, New Delhi, Sridhar Gutam joined the Agricultural Research Service in 2004. Currently he is working as a Senior Scientist at ICAR-IIHR, Bengaluru. Apart from his research interests in Plant Physiology of Horticultural Crops, he is passionate for the Open Access, Open Data and Open Education which made me him to float ‘Open Access India’, an online community platform for advocating Openness and creating e-infrastructure facilities viz., AgriXiv.org and IndiaRxiv.org to share research outputs publicly. Being a staff scientist in the ICAR-AICRP on Fruits, he is planning to collate all the data and information generated across the participating centres on all aspects of mandated fruit crops and make available at a single online locus for the public consultation. He is inducted into the Creative Commons Global Network and is a member of the CLACSO Working Group on Common goods and open access (Bienes comunes y acceso abierto) for the years 2016-2019. He is also involved in the launch of OAJMAP, the first open access journal in ICAR and had actively contributed to the Open Access policy development and adoption by the ICAR.
